To calculate how long a smart charging session will last, we take into account a series of parameters that influence the duration. The four most important variables are:

1. Upcoming electricity prices (€/kWh)
2. The time remaining until your desired charge completion time (hours)
3. The amount of electricity needed (kWh)
4. The charging speed of both the vehicle and the charger (kW/h)

To determine a detailed charging plan, Smart Charging runs a test charging session during which the vehicle charges for a few minutes while the charging power and battery metrics are monitored, ensuring that the estimated charging duration is accurate.
