Can I apply for the "bono social"?

The "bono social" is an electricity bill discount intended for individuals (not businesses).

The bono social is a subsidized discount on the electricity bill designed for individuals who are the account holders for their primary residence, have a contracted power capacity of less than 3 kW, and meet specific social, consumption, and financial requirements.

It was created on July 1, 2009, alongside the launch of the TUR (Tarifa de Último Recurso or Last Resort Tariff), and it essentially freezes that specific electricity rate from that date onward for eligible users.

Unfortunately, Chippio cannot offer the bono social discount, as only a few reference marketers (comercializadoras de referencia) designated by the government are authorized to provide it. We recommend checking with your local municipality's social services to find out which companies offer it.
