Why does Smart Charging start earlier than expected, at times when the electricity price is higher than usual?

There can be several reasons for this. As a general rule, it means we need that extra time to charge your car before your set departure time.

Other reasons may include:

• The car's battery level is too low and has dropped below the minimum battery limit you've specified. In this case, Smart Charging will always charge normally until it reaches your specified minimum battery level.
• There isn't enough monetary saving to justify delaying the charge.
• We are unable to connect to the car due to poor mobile coverage and/or other technical issues, which means we cannot stop the car from charging.
